Sustainable Maryland has approved HEVI’s electric heavy equipment for qualification under their Action-based certification system for municipalities around the state of Maryland.  Now, purchasing HEVI’s products can help Maryland’s municipalities achieve their Sustainable Maryland certification.

HEVI Equipment Cuts Emissions

HEVI’s all-electric wheel loaders and excavators operate on Lithium-ion batteries and have zero operating emissions. It is estimated that a single GEL-5000 electric wheel loader can eliminate as much as 224 tons of carbon emissions during their first 6,000 hours of operation when replacing a comparable diesel-based model.

Sustainable Maryland Certification:  The Municipal Electric Vehicles Action

Sustainable Maryland has been critical in supporting sustainable solutions and the adoption of clean technology in Maryland.  After reviewing HEVI’s products, Sustainable Maryland has updated the definition of their Municipal Electric Vehicles Action to include a category for electric heavy equipment.  Now, purchasing HEVI equipment can earn towns up to 10 points on their Sustainable Maryland application.
